A Brief Rule, in Brief

He who is without sin…

Tyler Cowen publishes often and articulately. So does Paul Krugman. Given the actual standing of each of those economists, this raises the question how often do you have to publish to be “articulate”?

101 economics implies that, given sufficient demand, any commentator with a certain status can talk all the shit they like as long as it’s out there. Furthermore, the less you publish the less you are likely to be in demand, according – if you ask me anyway – to certain ideas about “signalling” pushed by certain game-theory types who will go – for my own benefit – unnamed.

Whether that, or this, implies a contradiction or an unsolved puzzle will be left as an exercise to the reader.
